Delicious food and drinks and, coming soon, stained glass at Toner's Pub
Since we moved to Morganton from New Jersey three years ago, we've missed the diverse dining options we enjoyed in our previous home. We love eating out and were spoiled by the variety of food available in such a densely populated area. However, the natural beauty of the mountains and lakes surrounding Morganton has made that trade-off worthwhile. We love hiking and kayaking, but these activities build up quite an appetite, and the limited number of restaurants here, though delicious, has posed a bit of a challenge.
Recently, we've been thrilled to see a few new places opening up. One of these is Toner's Pub (306 S. Green St.). True to the spirit of a good Irish pub, they feature a fantastic menu of delicious food and beverages. And soon, they will boast two large, brightly colored stained glass windows in their front windows.
I am honored to be creating these windows for Jim and Ibie Toner, who have been delightful to work with. One window will have the names of their children and spouses in the four corners, while the other will feature the names of their grandchildren. The Toners are very family-oriented and the pub radiates their energy and warmth. (And did I mention the delicious food???) I am steadily working on these windows and anticipate completing them in early fall. So, pretty soon, when you’re in the mood for fish and chips and a cold beer, you’ll be able to stop by Toner's Pub, enjoy great food and drinks, and check out their new stained glass windows.
