Brightening up my cave
The construction project on our building has been going really well lately; I only have one complaint— the temporary wall in the front of my shop blocks all natural light. I have lots of artificial light which, of course, is helpful to see what I’m doing but I can’t wait for the completion of this project to have sunlight shine into my shop again. On all these sunny Spring days, I’ve basically been working in a cave. Fortunately, I’ve had colorful glass projects to create. This transom window is my most recently completed commission and working on it made it feel a little brighter in my space. However, my next commission is two companion pieces featuring the night sky and the bottom of the ocean. That seems to mirror my lightless space a little too closely! But it should be another 3 weeks or so and I will be on the other side of this renovation and basking in the beautiful sunlight that streams inside my new façade.
