I’ve been feeling conflicted about this blog post. As no one needs to be told, there is tremendous conflict happening in America right now and it feels tone-deaf to post about anything other than the horrors of the day. But in the midst of all of it, there are people doing whatever good they can and that’s what I want to highlight for the moment. In my community, there’s an amazing organization, started out of a tragedy, called the The Fuccile Foundation. which supports local families affected by tragedy. Every year, the Fuce 5 is run on Father’s Day and it’s truly one of the most heartwarming events, bringing our community together through love and support. (If you want to see a bit of what I’m talking about, check out the “About Mike + Our Families” page on their website— grab your tissues!) Because of the Coronavirus pandemic, this year’s event is not happening. So two local photographers, Michael Molfetto and his daughter Sarah Agliata, who were previously supported by the Fuccile Foundation, decided to give back by taking family photos in a local park and donating their proceeds. The timing was perfect for us because our daughter, Abigail, who has been quarantining with us for 12 weeks, was moving with some friends into a house near her campus. Her move stirs a wide range of feelings in all of us but Abigail was ready to go. Michael and Sarah captured this moment, so full of emotion, and allowed us to help them give back. It’s a win on so many levels and that, especially lately, feels like more than we can ask for. If you are thinking about doing this, I highly recommend it. Michael and Sarah are kind, funny, and talented and the Fuccile Foundation is a worthy and generous organization. You can reach Michael at mmolfetto@optonline.net or at (732) 895-1233.
