On June 12, I blogged about a project I was creating; I wanted to use actual words and images, fused onto glass and attached to a steel bomb, in order to show the damage being done to our country by Donald Trump. And here it is— titled “Trump Is the Bomb.” It’s been finished for a while and I’m pleased to announce it has been accepted into an online and physical show sponsored by the Women’s Caucus for Art, titled “The Space Between, Questions of Place in Times of Uncertainty.” The online exhibit is open now at Alfa Art Gallery and the physical exhibit will open on September 5. I’m pleased to be a part of this show which features women artists from a variety of backgrounds. At the moment, an artists’ reception is still uncertain because of the pandemic but I’m hopeful that it will happen as I would love to meet the other amazing artists and connect with the Women’s Caucus for Art, a national networking organization for women in the arts. Alfa Art is putting together interviews of the artists which I hope to participate in and will share more information as it happens.
