Beryl's table top.jpg

For roughly the past 6 months, I have been switching back and forth on projects frequently. This isn’t the way I usually work but it’s been necessary and I’m kind of enjoying it; it keeps things fresh! At the moment, I have 5 projects at various stages of completion. This one is on its way to becoming a table for my clients’ home in Massachusetts. In my blog on March 5, I shared about fusing and painting the frogs and eggs. After that. they just sat and waited patiently for the next step. Knowing we were putting our house on the market and I would need to be out of the studio for showings, I decided to prep the glass to create this mosaic and then bring everything to The Old Franklin Schoolhouse where I was able to work on it outside. So one day last week when we had a number of appointments, I brought my Tupperware containers filled with small pieces of various colors of glass, glue, fused frogs and eggs, and the wooden table top to which I attached everything and got to work. For the background, I decided to use various colors of glass to depict leaves and plants that would be visible through the water. The next step will be to pour the epoxy resin onto it so it will have a deep, clear, water-like finish. Slowly but surely, all these projects are heading towards completion which is good since our house sold in less than a week— now the frogs aren’t the only things that are hopping!
